Framed oil painting

This was an unusually calm morning; the waters surrounding Vinalhaven, Maine were glassy calm.  The distant Camden Hills seem closer than the hour ferry ride would indicate due to the high visibility that day.  Everything was crystal clear, with mirrored images reflected in the water.  This painting is highly glazed, super smooth and highly varnished in order to help create a sense of translucency and wetness to the water.
