Framed oil painting

The Isaac H. Evans and the Stephen Taber are depicted out on the Penobscot Bay enjoying an evening sail, with the Camden Hills in the distance. I worked at capturing the light on the sails, giving them a sense of translucency. The sky in this painting was painstakingly done with a pointillism technique. Upon closer examination many little tiny dots of many different colors were added to help create a sense of atmosphere. The attention to detail is carried over to the ships as well.
